ผึ้งยักษ์หิมาลัย (Apis laboriosa)
- หนึ่งในผึ้งที่ใหญ่ที่สุดในโลก ตัวใหญ่กว่า 3 ซม.

ทำไมน้ำผึ้งถึงเมา?
- มีสาร Grayanotoxin (GTX) จากดอกไม้

- ผึ้งไม่เป็นพิษ แต่คนอาจมีอาการรุนแรง

อาการ Mad Honey Intoxication

Himalayan Giant Bee (Apis laboriosa)
- One of the largest bees in the world, over 3 cm in size.

- Nests are found on rocks thousands of meters high.
- Rhododendron flowering season → produces “Mad Honey”.

Why is this honey intoxicating?
- Contains Grayanotoxin (GTX) from the flowers.

🐝 Traditional Method of Harvesting Himalayan Giant Bee Honey
1️⃣ Climb Himalayan cliffs, hives 30–100 meters high, using ropes and advanced safety equipment.
2️⃣ Beware of large bees, their stings are very painful → Stay calm and use bee smoker.
3️⃣ Harvest in small batches, using leak-proof containers. Honey contains grayanotoxin → Allows for controlled and safe harvesting.

Precautions:
Himalayan giant bee honey may... "Intoxicating like alcohol," but it's a natural poison, not just fun.
Not all honey is safe. If you encounter Mad Honey/Himalayan Honey → be very careful.
