If you’re planning a trip to Korea, make sure to pin this place — don’t miss it! ✅
Ikseon-dong
We visited the Yeonnam-dong branch in the Hongdae area. The restaurant is quite small but very cozy — perfect for escaping the cold weather! We waited about 30–40 minutes. The menu isn’t huge, but everything is delicious — confirmed!
Menu highlights include:Salmon rice bowl
Every dish comes with soup, side dishes, and even a Yakult to cleanse your palate after the meal. Super filling!
🍚 The signature of Solsot is Sotbap (솥밥) — rice cooked in a hot stone pot. This method makes the rice extra fragrant and creates a crispy layer at the bottom of the pot, which is a classic feature of Korean cuisine.
🥢 How to eat it:
When the stone pot rice is served, mix the rice with the sauce in the pot, then scoop it into your bowl to eat.
After finishing most of the rice, pour the provided soup into the pot with the remaining crispy rice at the bottom. Close the lid and let it sit for a while — the crispy rice will soften and turn into a delicious, fragrant rice soup.
I had the red sea bream rice bowl — the fish was tender, buttery, and paired perfectly with the warm, toasty aroma from the stone pot rice. Eating this in cold weather was pure happiness! Finishing it off with the soup and Yakult as recommended by the restaurant? I could’ve fallen asleep right there 😂
And the good news — you don’t even have to fly to Korea anymore because they’ve opened a branch in Thailand! If anyone has tried the Thailand branch, share your thoughts!
📍 How to get there:
Take the subway to Hongik University Station (Hongdae), Exit 3. Walk into Yeonnam-dong for less than 10 minutes and you’ll find it. The route can be a bit tricky, but just use Naver Map and follow the directions.
